Algal Oil
Algal oil is a oil derived directly from marine algae. It is a source of omega-3 fatty acids and contains essential nutrients beneficial for circulatory, heart, eye, joint and brain health.
Algal oil contains docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), two of the most important omega-3 fatty acids that have anti-inflammatory effects. As algal oil is a plant-based source of omega-3s, it contains low levels of contaminants compared to fish oils. Algal oil is a vegan-friendly alternative for people who do not consume animal products or who are concerned about overfishing.
